Every woman should be able to recognize the signs of breast health. If you notice any abnormalities in your breasts, you should seek medical attention right away. Breast problems that are detected early can improve the chances of recovery. What are the signs of a healthy breast? See the review in the following article.

Signs of healthy and normal breast

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women. Often, women discover they have breast cancer after their symptoms have become severe. As a result, it is critical for women to recognize the signs of healthy and normal breasts so that, if problems arise, further examination can be conducted immediately.

Some signs of normal and healthy breasts are:

No lumps

Healthy breasts have a relatively consistent texture throughout your life. Your breasts may sag slightly more after childbirth and breastfeeding, but this is normal. Breasts in women who have entered premenopause or menopause may become uneven, bumpy, or dense, but this is normal.

You should be aware when one or both breasts develop lumps and one breast becomes harder or feels different from the other. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should seek medical attention right away.

No rash or skin discoloration

One of the signs of healthy breasts is the absence of a rash or reddish spots on the skin. The texture, elasticity, and size of the breasts all appear normal. If you notice any changes in your skin color, such as redness, swelling, rashes, or darkening, you should see a doctor. Breast skin discoloration can be caused by a bacterial infection, eczema, or other medical conditions.

Normal breast temperature

Healthy breasts are at the same temperature as the rest of the body. If you notice that your breasts are warmer or redder, see a doctor. Mastitis, which is inflammation of the muscles beneath the breast tissue, can cause elevated breast temperatures.

No nipple discharge

It is normal for pregnant, breastfeeding, and new mothers to experience nipple discharge. However, you should be cautious if the nipple bleeds on its own from a single duct. Breast bleeding is often caused by a noncancerous growth in the milk ducts. In some cases, this condition can progress to cancer.

Occasional pain is normal

Breast pain, particularly during PMS, is normal. Aside from pain caused by hormonal conditions, pain from wearing an overly tight bra or from athletic positions is normal. However, if you experience pain in one breast that is not related to the menstrual cycle, you should see a doctor.

No swelling in the armpits

In addition to checking the condition of the breasts, you should examine the tissue in the armpit area. Lymph nodes in the armpits can swell as a result of infection or other lifestyle factors. In most cases, this will pass within a few days. If a lump in your armpit persists for more than two weeks and you experience hard or rubbery armpit tissue, fever, and unexplained weight loss, you should consult a doctor.

Everyone should be familiar with their own body parts so that they can recognize changes, such as those in the breast area. Any abnormalities in the breast may indicate malignancy, which must be treated quickly and appropriately.
